Honored coach of Russia Viktor Yanchuk expressed the opinion that tennis player Mirra Andreeva has simply not yet matured enough to win major tournaments.

Andreeva ended her Olympic singles performance on Sunday. In the first round, the Russian was defeated by Poland’s Magda Linett with a score of 3:6, 4:6.

— Maybe Mirra didn’t plan her preparation for the Olympics in the best way. In the sense that the day before yesterday she won the tournament in Iasi. She didn’t have that break, 2-3 days, or better yet a week, which it would be desirable to have. Here she played in a row, in a row, and some fatigue, both physical and psychological, took its toll. Maybe she shouldn’t have played the last tournament. But they know better.

On the other hand, it is simply too early for her to win such major tournaments. After all, the victorious tournament in Iasi is not that big. But a start has been made, after the victory, another countdown begins. She will still win, she lacks experience, some time must pass, – Yanchuk told Sovetsky Sport.

At the Olympics, Andreeva will also play in doubles with Diana Schneider and in mixed doubles with world number five Daniil Medvedev.

The Olympic Games will end on August 11.
