Chesnokov did not rate Andreeva and Schneider’s chances of winning the US Open this season very highly

Honored Master of Sports of Russia Andrey Chesnokov believes that tennis player Mirra Andreeva has minimal chances of winning the US Open this season, while Diana Schneider has no chance.

Earlier, 17-year-old Andreeva and 20-year-old Schneider became silver medalists in the 2024 Olympic Games in doubles.

“If Mirra Andreeva has some slim and small chance to take the title, then Diana will not be able to do it. She has not yet gained the psychological stability and confidence that will allow her to win one of the Grand Slam tournaments. Diana has a good coach – Igor Andreev. He can come up with something and give her the opportunity to prove herself in the future,” Chesnokov told “Championship”.

The US Open starts on August 26. In the first round, Schneider will face Argentina’s Nadia Podoroska, and Mirra Andreeva will face Camila Osorio from Colombia.
