Zheng Qinwen advances to US Open quarterfinals to face Sabalenka
Chinese tennis player Zheng Qinwen has reached the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament in the United States.
In the fourth round match, the Chinese player, ranked seventh in the WTA rankings, beat the world’s 24th racket Donna Vekic from Croatia. The match ended with a score of 7:6 (7:2), 4:6, 6:2.
Zheng Qinwen and Vekic met in the final of the Olympic singles tournament in August, and the Chinese player was also stronger then.
In the next round of the US Open, Zheng Qinwen will face Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka (2nd seed).
