Medvedev advances to US Open quarterfinals, where he may play Sinner
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev defeated Portuguese Nuno Borges in the fourth round of the US Open.
Medvedev, seeded fifth in the tournament, defeated the Portuguese in three sets, 6-0, 6-1, 6-3. In the third set, the match was interrupted due to a fire alarm in the building responsible for the Hawk-Eye system. The game was resumed a few minutes later.
In the US Open quarterfinals, the Russian will face the winner of the pair Jannik Sinner (Italy, 1) – Tommy Paul (USA, 14).
