Honored tennis coach of Russia Viktor Yanchuk believes that Mirra Andreeva can become the first racket of Russia in a year, taking this title from Daria Kasatkina.

Kasatkina ranks 13th in the world rankings, 17-year-old Andreeva is 23rd.

— Kasatkina’s leadership among Russian tennis players is temporary. It is clear that among the Russian women Andreeva has the best prospects. Time is on her side. It is more interesting and diverse than the others. In a year she may become the first among Russians. I have no doubt that in the coming years Diana Schneider and Mirra can enter the top 10. Schneider will improve due to his powerful play and character. They will replace the generation led by Kasatkina,” Yanchuk told Soviet Sport.

Andreeva won one trophy at WTA tournaments during her career, and together with Schneider she became a silver medalist at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in doubles.
