Daniil Medvedev lost at the start of the ATP Finals Tournament
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev lost to American Taylor Fritz in the first match of the group stage at the ATP Final Tournament, which takes place in Turin, Italy.
The meeting ended with Fritz winning with a score of 6:4, 6:3. The match lasted 1 hour 20 minutes.
In the second set, on Fritz’s serve, Medvedev was penalized a point for throwing his racket into the court for the second time. Then the Russian defiantly tossed and dropped the racket several more times, and also held it with the handle forward on the opponent’s serve.
Ilie Nastase’s group also includes Italian Jannik Sinner and Australian Alex De Minaur. The match between the two will take place later on Sunday. Medvedev’s next opponent will be De Minaur.
