Olkhovsky about Medvedev: “When you’ve had enough of tennis and it’s not fun for you, it’s already hard to beat your opponents”
Champion of the 1994 Australian Open and 1993 Roland Garros in mixed doubles, Andrei Olkhovsky, shared his opinion on the results of Russian Daniil Medvedev at the ATP Final Tournament.
On Tuesday, Medvedev won his first victory at the Final Tournament, beating Australian Alex De Minaur. Earlier, the Russian lost to the American Taylor Fritz.
“The thing is, when you say you’re tired of the season, you can’t expect much. There must be desire: you must want to win, you must be hungry. When you’ve already had your fill of tennis and for you it’s not pleasure, but hard work, it’s already hard to beat opponents who are among the strongest today,” Gazeta.Ru quotes Olkhovsky.
In the final match of the group stage, Medvedev will play against the world number one, Italian Jannik Sinner.
