Selivanenko believes that Rublev’s level is not enough to win over Zverev and Alcaraz
Vice-President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Alexey Selivanenko believes that Russian Andrey Rublev shows his level at the ATP Final Tournament, but at the moment he is not able to beat representatives of the top 3 of the ATP ranking.
On Wednesday, Rublev suffered his second defeat at the Final Tournament in Turin, losing to world number three Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (8:10).
— Andrey, in general, from the point of view of the game, performed at his level, it’s just that this is not enough now to beat Sasha Zverev and Carlos. Yes, he said this himself in his post-match comments. As for the series of six consecutive matches lost in two sets at this tournament, then, of course, this somewhere latently irritates Andrey himself. But on the other hand, he consistently ranks among the top eight at the end of the season,” RB Sport quotes Selivanenko as saying.
In the next match at the tournament, Rublev will play against the Norwegian Casper Ruud.
