The final ATP tournament will be held in Italy until 2030
The head of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Andrea Gaudenzi, said that the ATP Finals will be held in Italy for at least another five years.
On Sunday the final tournament ended in Turin. In the final, Italian Jannik Sinner beat American Taylor Fritz (6:4, 6:4). During the awards ceremony, Gaudenzi said that the tournament would definitely remain in Italy until 2030, but did not say which city would host the competition.
“Over the past four years, Italy has proven itself to be an excellent host of our most prestigious tournament, with both players and fans receiving a special experience here. Thanks to the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation and all the event partners for their support over the past four years. We look forward to continuing to work together,” Gaudenzi said, as quoted by the ATP press service.
Turin will host the Final Tournament from 2021. The competitions themselves have been held since 1970. The Russians won the tournament twice. In 2009, the title was won by Nikolay Davydenko, in 2020 by Daniil Medvedev.
