The Italian national team became the first finalist of the Billie Jean King Cup
The Italian women’s tennis team reached the final of the Billie Jean King Cup, beating the Polish team with a score of 2:1 in matches.
As part of Poland, Iga Swiatek, a five-time winner of Grand Slam singles tournaments and the second racket of the world, entered the match. She managed to defeat Jasmine Paolini, the leader of the Italian team, after which she entered the decisive doubles match, which the Italians won in two sets.
In the second semi-final, the British tennis team will play against the Slovak team. The previous champions of the tournament were Canadians, who lost to the British in the quarterfinals.
