Russian Elena Vesnina is included in the inactive athletes section of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) website.

Since November 4, 38-year-old Vesnina has been on the list of tennis players who have retired.

Vesnina returned to tennis in early 2024, saying she wanted to play at the Paris Olympics. After leaving the Olympics in the first round, she said that she was spending the last season of her career. In September, the Russian woman told Match TV that she wanted to continue competing next season.

Vesnina is the winner of Wimbledon (2017), French Open (2013), US Open (2014) in women’s doubles, and Australian Open (2016) in mixed doubles.

At the Games in Rio de Janeiro, Vesnina won the doubles tournament together with Ekaterina Makarova. At the Tokyo Olympics, Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev won silver medals in mixed doubles.
