Russian tennis player and Spartak fan Anastasia Potapova, in a conversation with Match TV, expressed regret over the departure of forward Alexander Sobolev from the Moscow club.

Sobolev moved to Zenit from Spartak in August. The 27-year-old striker played 16 games for the St. Petersburg club, in which he scored two goals and provided an assist.

— Who is your favorite Spartak footballer of all time?

— Sobolev played well for Spartak, it’s a pity that he left. Now the lineup is good. Even if we take the match with Lokomotiv, when Ugalde scored four goals and assisted. I haven’t seen Spartak in this form for a long time. Now we have mostly young guys in our squad, I hope they are motivated to work. But the lineup that was there five years ago was “golden” – then Promes and Dzhikia played. I really liked that team,” Potapova told Match TV.

Spartak ranks third in the MIR RPL standings after 18 rounds, gaining 37 points. Sobolev won the Russian Cup in 2022 as part of the “red-whites”.
