The opponents of Medvedev, Rublev and Khachanov in the first round of the Australian Open have been determined

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev will play against Thailand’s Kasidit Samrey in the first round of the Australian Open.

Medvedev was seeded fifth at the tournament, Samrey received a wild card from the organizers.

The rivals of Andrey Rublev (9th seed) and Pavel Kotov at the start of the tournament will be Brazilian Joao Fonseca and Portuguese Jaime Faria, respectively, who won the qualification. Karen Khachanov (19) will play against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino. Roman Safiullin will meet with Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis.

The current tournament winner, Italian Jannik Sinner (1), will play with Chilean Nicholas Harry in the first round, and 24-time Grand Slam winner Serbian Novak Djokovic (7) will play with American Nishesh Basavareddy (WC). Alexander Zverev (2) from Germany will meet with the Frenchman Luca Puy (WC), the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (3) will meet with the representative of Kazakhstan Alexander Shevchenko, who previously played for Russia.

The Australian Open main draw competitions will take place from January 12 to 26.
