Rublev lights on Wimbledon-2025

Wimbledon-2025 surprises in unexpected results. So, for the first time in the history of a large helmet in the open era, eight tennis players from the top -10 sowing in the male and female single discharges flew out in the first round. Not only fans, but also experts were surprised at the early departure of the favorites.

But Russian Andrei Rublev (14th place in the ATP rating) noted that there are no sensations, just sport does not stand in one place. Rublev shared his thoughts on the development of tennis after defeating the representative of South Africa Lloyd Harris (320th racket of the world) in the second round of Wimbledon-6: 7 (1: 7), 6: 4, 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 3.

– Even four years ago, when I played with Lloyd in the second circle of Wimbledon, there was a feeling that if I concentrate, I had no chance to lose. Today I had the feeling that even if I concentrate, it would be very difficult to win it. Now everyone knows how to apply strong blows.

It doesn’t matter or not – 50/50, because they know that they have 200 km/h, they will keep it to keep it. At some point, they will achieve their own, – Rublev’s words Punto de Break quoted the words of Rublev.

After a difficult victory over Harris, the Russian tennis player went into the third circle, where he was to play against the 123rd racket of the world of Adrian Mannarino from France.

A convincing victory

The first set turned out to be heavy for Rublev: Mannarino made maximum efforts so that Wimbledon-2025 had another unexpected result. Andrei at his presentations went forward along the game, but each time the Frenchman caught up. The Frenchman could capture the initiative in the ninth game, but he missed three Break Point. It seems that it knocked Adrian from the rut.

And in the end, his mistake led to the victory of the Russian in the set after a long exchange of blows. Rublev with difficulty took the first batch – 7: 5. The rivals had one double mistake, but Andrei made more Aisov – six against four.

It seemed that an equal struggle would continue. But, apparently, Mannarino was enough for only one set.

In the second party, the Russian significantly added and left no chance to the Frenchman. After five gamies, the score was in favor of our tennis player – 4: 1. Further, Adrian reduced the lag to two games, but Rublev did not allow the opponent to turn the course of the game. As a result, Andrei confidently brought the matter to victory – 6: 2. At the same time, Mannarino had five Break Punts, but the opponent did not allow them to be realized.

In the third set, the swing began again, which lasted until the eighth game. But then the Frenchman began to make mistakes more often and could no longer withstand the pace of the opponent. Rublev in the classroom chopped Adrian and Ace beautifully put an end to the match – 7: 5, 6: 2, 6: 3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 59 minutes.

– Even before Wimbledon, I joked with my team, as if I did not know what was waiting for us – defeat in the first round and the way home or not. But the level finally appeared. I play well, I beat powerfully on the ball. I begin to feel that I am in shape and results is only a matter of time.

Even in those months, when I trained diligently and played well, deep down I felt that something was wrong. But now, finally, I know that again I hit the ball very well. Better than in a long time, ”said Rublev after the victory, whom Punto de Break.

In the fourth circle, Rublev will meet with the second racket of the world by the Spaniard Carlos Alcaras, who took silver in a single discharge at the Games-2024. The Russian has already significantly improved the last year’s result of the performance at Wimbledon. Then he first lost in his career in the first match of the tournament.
