Drama Andreeva and Schneider at Wimbledon. Lostlessly lost after a threat to life

After the early departure of the Italian duet, Sarah Errani and Jasmine Paolini, a couple of Russians Mirra Andreev and Diana Schneider, many attributed to the main favorites at Wimbledon. But the star status did not save tennis players from a painful defeat in an extremely life -threatening match.

It seems that Andreeva and Schneider play together for eternity, but last year, at Wimbledon, young Russians played in different pairs. Diana reached the second round with Elena Vesnina, and Mirra flew out in the first round with Anastasia Potapova.

The next rivals of the Russian duet were the Romanian of Soran Kyrti, as well as compatriot Anna Kalinskaya, who has recently experienced health problems, which has rolled back in WTA ratings.

Thunder and lightning changed the course of the match

In the first five gamies, none of the steam was able to make a break, although Soaran and Anna were close to this at Andreeva’s debut presentation. But the “more or less” of the favorites turned out to be stronger than the nerves. Only in the sixth Game did the first break occurred, which was designed by the Russian duet.

In the beginning, the great playing of Mirra and Diana was noticeable with the naked gaze. But a Russian woman became a weak place in the duet of Kyrist and Kalinskaya in the first party. She twice gave her rivals her presentation. This led to defeat in the starting set with a score of 4: 6.

The beginning of the second segment took place for Andreeva and Schneider unsuccessfully. They themselves allowed the rivals to make a break. Offective mistakes led to an emotional reaction from the Russians, the benefit was immediately able to take the rivals.

In the third game, thunder is first sounded, but judges, unlike football, where it is now customary to make an immediate pause, were in no hurry to stop the match. It was a really risky decision, because no one was safe from the blows of lightning, and football officials understand this very well.

Only with the score 2: 2, when the court was poured in the rain, and the risk was much higher, the referee sent tennis players to the locker room. The hour break at first benefited Diana and Mirre. They easily took the fifth game and for a long time tormented rivals in the sixth. Only on the “more-more” Anna and Soran were able to equalize the score. But after that, an equal struggle began, which led the duet to the tie-break. Here, Kalinskaya and Kyrista were already stronger. Ten rally was enough for them to pick up the second batch – 7: 3.

In the third set, the tennis players could not even finish one game, the match was stopped due to the rain again. The next return to the court turned out for Andreeva and Schneider terrible. They allowed the rivals of the story with a score of 3: 0.

Only in the fourth game Mirre and Diana managed to print the score, but it was noticeable that Andreev was not at ease. But Kalinskaya became a real wall in defense, which helped her duet win an important victory to the quarter -finals, taking the decisive set with a score of 6: 1.
