The former first racket of the world, Maria Sharapova, after included in the International Hall of Tennis Glory, spoke about rivalry with Serena Williams.

Events in honor of the inclusion of athletes in the Hall of Glory took place in Newport (Rod -Alend, USA) from August 21 to 23. The 23 -fold champion of the large helmet of Serena Williams announced the inclusion of Sharapova in the Glory Hall in the Hall of Fame. Sharapova became the third representative of Russia in the international hall of tennis glory. Previously, Marat Safin and Evgeny Kafelnikov were awarded such an honor.

Sharapova is the former first racket of the world, as well as the winner of the five large helmet tournaments and 36 WTA tournaments in a single category. She announced the completion of a sports career in February 2020.

On August 23, the American tennis players of the Bob and Mike Brian, American tennis players were also included in the Glory Hall.

    Four Ukrainian women will play doubles at the Australian Open 2026

    Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.

    Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.

    Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.

    Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.

    Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.

    Khachanov moved up one place in the ATP rankings

    Russian Karen Khachanov moved from 18th to 17th place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.

    The best among Russians remains Daniil Medvedev, located in 13th place, Andrei Rublev is 16th. There have been no changes in the top ten rankings: Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is in the lead, Italian Jannik Sinner is second, and German representative Alexander Zverev is in third.
