Andreeva and Schneider will play in the third round of the paired category of the opening championship of the United States – 2025.
The Russian duet Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider entered the third round of the US Open Championship-2025. For young tennis players, this is the second confident victory in New York. In the first circle, they easily figured out the British-Kazakhstan couple Harriet Dart/Julia Putintseva-6: 1, 6: 2, showing that they may well fight on equal terms with experienced rivals.
Now the Russians have taken another step towards the trophy and made their way to the 1/8 finals, where they have to play against the duet Shuko Aoyam (Japan) / Van Yafan (China).
Dominance in the first set and a stress segment in the second
The meeting of the second circle began with the fact that Andreev and Schneider immediately outlined their intentions, making a break. Such a quick tagged the Russians gave confidence, and they began to act boldly and relaxed. Opponents – Storm Hunter from Australia and American Dezire Kravchik – are known as a strong duet who knows how to keep the pace and play at high speeds. However, at the beginning of the match, it was difficult for them to cope with the dense blows and aggressive game of Russians at the grid.
By the middle of the party, the score was 3: 1. At the same time, Schneider and Andreev controlled the draws and almost did not give rivals the chances of a break. In the sixth game, the Russians again took someone else’s presentation. It all ended very quickly: the set ended with a score of 6: 1 in 23 minutes. Andreeva and Schneider looked collected and accurate, tried to minimize errors and used any chance for a break.
The beginning of the second batch turned out in the same vein. The Russians led 3-0, again taking the serving of rivals twice. At this moment, it seemed that the match would end as easily as the previous meeting. But Hunter and Kravchik were not going to give up. They managed to impose a struggle, take advantage of the inaccuracies of Schneider and Andreeva and play one of the Breaks. The score was reduced to 3: 4, and the intrigue returned to the game briefly.
Despite the fact that the rivals caught the moment, Andreev and Schneider did not allow them to turn around for real. The Russians quickly reassured the situation, won their presentation, and then again broke the initiative in the decisive game. The final account is 6: 1, 6: 3. The game lasted 57 minutes.
Andreeva and Schneider looked more collected and reliable: they issued four filings right through and did not make a single double error. At the same time, rivals, on the contrary, were mistaken twice on the presentation and could not be noted by any Ace. The key factor was the implementation of the Break Punts. The Russians used 6 out of 10 opportunities, while Hunter and Kravchik took only two game at the reception.
Andreeva and Schneider are seriously treated in pairs and stubbornly go to the first large title. In the next match, the Russians will meet with Aoyama and Van Yafan – a couple who has extensive experience in large helmet tournaments. This will be a serious test, but in the current game Andreev and Schneider look ready for the fight for the quarterfinals.
