Tennis player Daria Saville (nee Gavrilova), representing Australia, admitted that she hid her pregnancy during her performances at the US Open.
On September 19, Saville announced that she was expecting her first child in March. In August, she qualified for the 2025 US Open, losing in the first round to German Julia Niemeyer with a score of 0:6, 2:6.
— It was very difficult to hide it at the US Open! But I didn’t want people to know that they were playing or sparring against a pregnant woman,” Saville wrote on social networks.
Former world number 20 Saville is currently ranked 159th in the WTA world rankings. Her husband Luke Saville was formerly ranked 23rd in the world in pairs.
