Gauff beats Pegula to win the Wuhan tennis tournament
The third racket of the world, American Cori Gauff, won the title at the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, China.
Gauff, who received the third seed, beat compatriot Jessica Pegula (6) in the decisive match with a score of 6:4, 7:5. The meeting lasted 1 hour 42 minutes.
For 21-year-old Gauff, this is her 11th win at WTA singles tournaments. Previously, she qualified for the WTA Finals, which will be held in early November in Riyadh.
