Polish tennis player Szwiatek rose to second place in the amount of prize money in WTA history
The second racket of the world, Polish Iga Szwiatek, rose to second place in the amount of prize money in the history of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), according to a document published by the WTA press service.
Last week, Szwiatek reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, where she lost to Italian Jasmine Paolini. For her performance in China, the Polish singer earned 83 thousand dollars.
In total, Schwiatek received more than $42.945 million in prize money during her career. According to this indicator, the 24-year-old athlete is ahead of the American Venus Williams – 42.867 million. The first racket of the world, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, is in fourth place – 42.48 million.
The leader in the amount of prize money earned during her career is the American Serena Williams – 94.816 million. Of the Russians, the highest on the list, in seventh place, is Maria Sharapova – 38.777 million.
