Canadian Shapovalov had an argument in Russian with a fan during a tennis match in Stockholm

Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov got into an altercation with a fan during the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm (Sweden).

Shapovalov played against Sweden’s Elias Umer and won with a score of 6:4, 6:7 (3:7), 6:1. The incident occurred at the beginning of the second set.

A video of an argument between a tennis player and a spectator spread on social networks. Shapovalov shouted to the fan in Russian: “What? What do you want? Come here, come here!” The stands responded with a roar and began chanting Humer’s name. After this, the Canadian approached the judge on the chair and complained that he was being interfered with in his play.

On Saturday, Shapovalov will meet Norwegian Casper Ruud in the semifinals. Shapovalov previously won in Stockholm in 2019 – this was the first title of a Canadian on the ATP Tour.
