Polina Kudermetova failed to reach the second round of the tennis tournament in Guangzhou
Russian tennis player Polina Kudermetova failed to reach the second round of the WTA 250 tournament in Guangzhou.
In the first round, Kudermetova, seeded eighth at the tournament, lost to Frenchwoman Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaone in three sets – 6:1, 1:6, 2:6. The 19-year-old opponent entered the main draw of the tournament as a “lucky loser.” The tennis players spent 1 hour and 15 minutes on the court.
Rajaona in the next round will meet the winner of the meeting between Katarzyna Kawa (Poland, Q) and Katie Woloniec (USA, Q).
