The first racket of the world, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, said that he was surprised by his failure in the second round of the Masters series tournament in Paris.

On Tuesday, Alcaraz lost to Briton Cameron Norrie in the 1/16 final match with a score of 6:4, 3:6, 4:6. The meeting lasted 2 hours 22 minutes.

“I came here in great shape. I came here full of energy. I came here thinking I could do well because I play really good tennis. This is my best year in terms of performances at the end of the year. I used to always be exhausted at the end of the seasons, but not anymore. I talked to my team about how I feel great.

I will try to prepare as best as possible for the trip to the Final Tournament of the Year in Turin and for the Davis Cup matches – for the really important tournaments that I have ahead. Right now I just want to go home and then we’ll see what I do. But, of course, I will train and prepare, and, of course, I will try to prevent this from happening again,” the ATP press service quotes Alcaraz.

The 22-year-old Alcaraz has won eight singles titles this season, including two Grand Slam tournaments: Roland Garros and the US Open.
