Alexandrova will replace the ill Keys in the WTA Finals match against Rybakina
Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova will replace American Madison Keys in the WTA Final Tournament match against Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan, as follows from the competition schedule.
According to journalist Reem Abulleil on the social network, Keys withdrew from the match due to a viral disease. The first alternate for the singles tournament was Russian Mirra Andreeva, but she was unable to come on as a substitute. Alexandrova confirmed her participation in the tournament.
Rybakina had previously secured access to the semi-finals of the Final Tournament, while Keys suffered two defeats in the group stage of the competition and lost her chances for the playoffs.
The meeting between Rybakina and Alexandrova will take place on November 5 and will begin no earlier than 17:00 Moscow time.
