Djokovic withdrew from the ATP Finals due to injury
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic said that due to injury he will not compete at the ATP Final Tournament.
On Saturday, Djokovic beat Italian representative Lorenzo Musetti (4:6, 6:3, 7:5) in the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Athens. 38-year-old Djokovic won his 101st singles trophy and became the oldest champion in the history of the ATP tour.
“I was really looking forward to the tournament in Turin to show all my capabilities, but after today’s final in Athens, I am sad to share that I am forced to withdraw due to an injury that is bothering me.
I’m truly sorry for the fans who were hoping to see me play, your support means a lot to me. I wish all the players a great tournament and can’t wait to get back on the court to see you all again,” Djokovic wrote on social media.
Musetti will replace Djokovic at the ATP Finals. The competition will take place in Turin from November 9 to 16.
