The son of the Ukrainian athlete became the first finalist of the youth final

20-year-old Belgian tennis player Alexander Blocks (ATP 116) advanced to the semi-finals of the ATP 2025 Junior Final Tournament ahead of schedule.

Blox became the first semi-finalists of the Next Gen ATP Finals thanks to two wins in the two opening rounds of the Red Group.

On December 17, he defeated German representative Justin Engel in four sets (ATP 187) [3:4 (7:9), 4:2, 4:2, 4:2]and today on the 18th he defeated American Nishesh Basavareddy (ATR 167) in three games. [4:3 (7:3), 4:3 (10:8), 4:1].

Blox is the son of Ukrainian athletes. His father, Oleg, specialized in disabled people, and his mother, Natalya, was a professional swimmer. Alexander’s family moved to Belgium about thirty years ago.

Blox is competing in the Youth Finals for the first time in his career. He also became the first Belgian to reach the New Generation semi-finals.

In the final third round of the foursome, Alexander will meet Dino Prizmic.
