Alcaraz guaranteed himself the status of the first racket of the world in 2025
Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz secured first place in the ATP world rankings at the end of the 2025 season.
On Thursday, world number one Alcaraz beat Lorenzo Musetti at the ATP Finals and reached the semi-finals with 600 points (200 points for each win in the group round).
Thus, the Spaniard became unattainable for the Italian Jannik Sinner no matter the outcome of the remaining matches. Alcaraz now has 11,650 points; Sinner, who has reached the semifinals, will score 11,500 points if he wins the main trophy.
The 22-year-old Alcaraz won eight titles in the 2025 season, including two Grand Slam tournaments: Roland Garros and the US Open.
