Alcaraz ended its partnership with the coach with whom it won all the trophies
The 22-year-old leader of the ATP world rankings Carlos Alcaraz He completed his collaboration with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.
“It is very difficult for me to write this article… After working together for more than seven years, Huanqui and I have decided to end our partnership as coach and player. Thank you for making my childhood dreams come true. We started this journey when I was a child, and throughout this time, you accompanied me on an incredible journey both on and off the field. And I enjoyed every step with you.
We have reached the top and I think we would have been at the top if our sporting paths had parted. So many memories come to my mind that it would be unfair to keep just one. You helped me grow as an athlete, but most importantly as a person. And one thing I appreciate a lot is that I enjoyed the process. This is what I will keep; The path we walk together.
Now is the time for change, new adventures, new projects for both of us. But I believe that we will meet them in the right spirit and, as always, do our best. And we will always add more. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you the best no matter what. I’m calm because I know we gave each other everything we could. Thank you for everything Juanqui!” wrote Carlos.
It was confirmed that professional relations had been severed. Juan Carlos Ferrero:
“Today is a difficult day for me. It’s one of those times when it’s hard to find the right words. Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when there are so many moments we shared together. We worked hard, grew together and shared unforgettable emotions. I want to thank you for your time, for your trust, for everything this common path has taught me, and above all for the people who have been there throughout the entire journey.”
I take with me the laughter, the challenges overcome, the conversations, the support during difficult times, and the satisfaction of being a part of something truly special. Today a very important chapter of my life ends. I close it with some sadness, but also with pride and anticipation of what lies ahead. I know that everything I have experienced has prepared me to be a better person.
Thank you Carlos for making me feel truly special with your confidence, effort and competitive attitude. I wish you success both in your profession and in your life. I would also like to thank the entire team for making my job easier over the years. Thanks to you, I realized that work is not just about tasks and results, but also about the people working next to you. Each of you left a mark in my life that I will never forget.
Despite all the difficulties, we have become an incredible team and I am sure that you will continue to achieve great success. I would like to continue on this path. And I believe that good memories and good people always find a way to cross paths again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Alcaraz and Ferrero began collaborating in 2019, when Carlos was just 15 years old. Together with Huanca, Carlos won 24 trophies at the ATP level, six Grand Slam titles, eight Masters and also became the world’s first racket.
