Daniil Medvedev will play at the Northern Palmyra Trophies tournament in St. Petersburg
The first racket of Russia Daniil Medvedev will take part in the international tennis tournament “Trophies of Northern Palmyra” in St. Petersburg, the press service of the competition reports.
The tournament will take place on November 29–30. Medvedev will play for the Sphinxes team along with Karen Khachanov, Veronika Kudermetova and Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan. The team captain will be Mansour Bahrami.
Diana Schneider, Anastasia Potapova and Kazakhstani Alexander Bublik will compete for the “Lions” team; another team member will be named later. The captain of the Lions is Janko Tipsarevic.
Medvedev is a US Open winner and former world number one. Currently, the 29-year-old Russian ranks 13th in the rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals.
