Daniil Medvedev – about the future in tennis: “I will live with this for a relatively long time, maybe six years, if I’m lucky, even more”
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev told Match TV that he intends to play professionally for at least another six years and intends to return to leading positions in the world rankings next year.
Former world number one Medvedev is now ranked 13th in the ATP rankings. During his career, he won 21 singles titles, winning only the tournament in Almaty in 2025.
— How hard were your failures last season?
– Of course, it’s hard. Tennis is my life. I always try to look for some advantages – when you play worse, maybe you spend more time with your family somewhere.
Because I will live with this for a relatively long time, maybe six years, if I’m lucky, even more. And you can’t take this too seriously. But, of course, the motivation is strong to try to return to the top next year. But you need to show the best results for this,” Medvedev told Match TV.
Medvedev performs at the Northern Palmyra Trophies tournament in St. Petersburg and represents the Sphinxes team. On Sunday, Daniil defeated Alexander Bublik, who plays for Lviv, with a score of 2:5, 6:2, 6:2 (14:9).
