Sabalenka and Rybakina entered the Top 10 highest paid athletes in the world – media
The first racket of the world, Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, and the representative of Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakina, were included in the top ten highest paid athletes in 2025, according to Sportico.
According to the publication’s calculations, seven out of ten places in the top 10 are occupied by representatives of tennis. This is because tennis is the only major professional sport where women receive almost as much prize money as men.
The entire top three were tennis players: Cori Gauff ($31 million in annual income), Aryna Sabalenka (30) and Iga Swiatek (23).
Next are: Eileen Gu (freestyle skiing), Zheng Qingwen (tennis), Caitlin Clark (basketball), Nelly Korda (golf), Madison Keys (tennis), Elena Rybakina (tennis), Naomi Osaka (tennis).
In 2025, 27-year-old Sabalenka broke the record of the American Serena Williams for the amount of prize money for a season in women’s tennis. During the year, Sabalenka earned $15,008,519. The American earned $12,385,572 in 2013.
