Tennis player Potapova will represent Austria from 2026
Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova wrote on her Telegram channel that she has received Austrian citizenship and will represent the country in international tournaments from 2026.
— I am pleased to inform you that my application for citizenship has been approved by the Austrian government.
Austria is a place I love, it is incredibly welcoming and I feel at home there. I love Vienna and look forward to making it my second home. “In this regard, I am proud to announce that from 2026 I will represent my new homeland, Austria, in my professional tennis career,” Potapova wrote.
Potapova is 24 years old and ranks 51st in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.
