Andrey Rublev started the UTS tournament in London with a victory
Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev started off with a victory in the final exhibition tournament of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown series season.
In the first match, Rublev beat the representative of the Czech Republic, Tomas Machac, 3:0 (14:13, 17:10, 18:15).
Each match consists of four 8-minute quarters (sets) with 3-minute breaks between them.
In the quarters, players alternate serving two serves; in the rallies there are no second serves, nor a rule for the serve to hit the net. If a tennis player takes three sets in a row, he wins the match.
The Ultimate Tennis Showdown tournament takes place in London from December 5 to 7.

Monfils played head to head with Marozan for the fourth time and lost to the Hungarian for the second time.
Gael failed to defend last year’s trophy on Auckland courts. The 39-year-old Frenchman is in the last season of his career.
Marozan will face second place Kasper Ruud in the second round of the competition.

Paris NN footballer Nikolai Kalinsky, brother of Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, believes that his sister will not change her sports citizenship.
Kalinskaya is 27 years old. She is ranked 33rd in the WTA rankings.
— When I saw that Anastasia Potapova decided to compete for Austria, I wanted to ask Anya what she would do if there was such an opportunity (to change citizenship). I haven’t had time to ask yet since we haven’t met. But I think that Anya will not change her citizenship. January 13 Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya (WTA 27) will begin their performances at the WTA 500 hard court tournament to be held in Adelaide, Australia.
