Chinese tennis player was banned for 12 years for match-fixing
International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) Pan Zhenlong He was banned from tennis for 12 years and fined $110,000 ($70,000 of which was suspended). This happened after it was determined that he had either fixed matches or been involved in attempts to organize them; We are talking about 22 fights from May to September 2024.
Pan, 25, admitted to fixing five of his own singles matches at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15, M25 and ATP Challenger 50 tournaments, as well as making 17 attempts to corruptly influence other professional players, which led to a further six cases of match-fixing.
Pan, who reached the highest singles ranking of 1316 in November 2024, accepted the sentence agreed with the ITIA and waived his right to a hearing before an independent Anti-Corruption Officer (AHO).
Starting November 7, 2024, time spent under suspension will be included in the total suspension period. Therefore, Pan Renlong’s suspension will last until November 6, 2036, subject to payment of the outstanding portion of the penalty.
During the eligibility period, Pan is prohibited from playing, coaching or participating in any tennis event organized or sanctioned by the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Française de Tennis Federation, Wimbledon, USTA) or members of any national association.
ITIA is an independent body established by members of the tennis community to promote, develop and protect the integrity of professional tennis competition.
