Former world number one and 22-time Grand Slam winner Spaniard Rafael Nadal said that he underwent surgery on his hand due to an injury that had bothered him for many years.
Nadal is 39 years old and retired from his professional career in 2024.
“It looks like I won’t be able to play at the Australian Open in 2026,” Nadal joked on the social network. — I had to undergo surgery on my hand due to a problem that I had been struggling with for a long time. I hope I get better soon.
The Australian Open will take place in Melbourne from January 12 to February 1.
