Quebec tennis player Gabriel Diallo has decided to cut ties with coach Martin Laurendeau. This is what he revealed to Radio-Canada Sports on Thursday morning.

The Swedes Johan Ortegren and Jonas Bjorkman are among the coaches who will support him from now on.

Diallo pierced the top 50 world last season and won his first career title on the ATP tour in mid-June in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Furthermore, Diallo and his playing partner, local favorite Coleman Wong, defeated German Constantin Frantzen and Dutchman Robin Haase 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5) and 10-8 in the quarter-finals on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, before withdrawing from the Hong Kong tournament.

Diallo and Wong, who had beaten him in the singles in the second round the day before, allowed the Italians Lorenzo Sonego and Lorenzo Musetti to reach the final of the doubles tournament.

They will face the winners of the other semi-final between the American Vasil Kirkov and the Dutchman Bart Stevens and the Russians Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev.
