Former world number one Serbian Novak Djokovic announced that he is leaving the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA).

The PTPA is an organization founded by Djokovic himself and the Wimbledon doubles winner, Canadian Vasek Pospisil. It is designed to protect the interests of professional tennis players.

— I decided to leave the Association. This is because there are questions about how my voice and image have been used, and in the management of the organization as a whole. Clearly my values no longer align with the direction of the organization. This chapter is closed, but I wish good luck to all the players and those involved. “I remain focused on tennis, my family and making a contribution to the development of the sport as I see it,” Djokovic wrote on the social network.

In 2025, RTRA sued the governing bodies of tennis – the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). The PTPA, in its lawsuits, cited “systemic abuses and blatant disregard for the welfare of players that have been going on for decades.”
