Yastremskaya’s first opponent in the WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide has been announced
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya (WTA 27) met its first opponent at the WTA 500 hard court tournament held in Adelaide, Australia.
In the 1/16 final, Dayana will play against the Romanian representative Sorana Kirsty (WTA 41), qualified.

Kirstya defeated Ulrikke Eikeri in the 500th qualifying round. [6:3, 6:3] and Kamilla Rakhimov [7:6, 6:3].
Yastremska had only played against Kirsty once before. In 2022, Dayana defeated Sorana in the semifinals of the WTA 250 competition in Lyon.
If Yastremskaya manages to get past Kirsty, she will compete against Diana Schneider or Leila Fernandez in the second round of Adelaide.
The 500 main rules match in Adelaide will be held from 12-17 January.
