Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev said that he dedicated his victory at the tournament in Brisbane (Australia) to his youngest daughter, who had a birthday in January.

On Sunday, Medvedev defeated American Brandon Nakashima in the final match with a score of 6:2, 7:6 (7:1).

Daniil and his wife Daria are raising two daughters – Alisa (born in 2022) and Victoria (born in 2025).

“I want to dedicate the victory to my family.” They couldn’t come to Australia, it’s too far, about 23 hours from where I live, and with two small children it’s not easy. I decided to play at this tournament, and we thought that we would all come together, but we stuck to our decision. My daughter had her birthday while I was here, so I’m dedicating the title to her first birthday. Although this trophy is a little heavy for her,” the ATP press service quotes Medvedev.

The Russian won the 22nd trophy at the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournaments.
