Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya (WTA 27) has completed its campaign at the 2026 Australian Open.
In the first round, the Ukrainian player was defeated in two sets. Elena-Gabriela Ruse (Romania, WTA 79) In 1 hour 50 minutes.

In the second game, Dayana was trailing 1:5 but managed to regain Ruse’s serve twice. The Ukrainian saved four match points and looked to start a comeback, but lost two games with a score of 5:5 and gave up the match.
Yastremskaya had her third match against Ruse and suffered her third defeat.
Diana performed on the Melbourne courts for the eighth time. Its best result is the semi-final stage in 2024.
Yastremskaya will continue to compete in doubles at the Australian Open, where she will compete alongside Alisha Parks of the United States against 16th seed duo Guo Hanyu/Kristina Mladenovic in the first round.
Ruse will play with the winner of the match, Yulia Starodubtseva (Ukraine, WTA 110) – Ayla Tomlyanovich (Australia, WTA 76), in the second round. Yulia and Ayla will start in the major on January 19.
