Kasatkina finished her fight at the Australian Open in the first round
Australian tennis player Daria Kasatkina has completed her fight at the Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne.
In the first round of the competition, Kasatkina, ranked 43rd in the WTA rankings, lost to Czech Nikola Bartunkova (126), who made it into the main draw through qualification. The meeting lasted a little longer than two hours and ended with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 0:6, 6:3 in favor of the Czech tennis player.
In the next round of the Australian Open, Bartunkova will play against world number ten Belinda Bencic from Switzerland.
Earlier in January, Kasatkina announced that she had received Australian citizenship by publishing a photo of the official document. A native of Tolyatti has been playing for this country in international tournaments since the spring of 2025.
