For the first time since 2021. Only one Ukrainian made it to the 2nd round at the Aus Open.

All first round matches ended on January 20 Australian Open 2026.

According to the results of the 1/64 final matches, only one out of six Ukrainians made it to the next round – Elina Svitolina.

Five more representatives of Ukraine – Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Alexandra Oleynikova, Yulia Starodubtseva and Angelina Kalinina – completed their performances in the first round.

Results of Ukrainians in the first round of the Australian Open 2026:

For the first time since 2021, only one Ukrainian will play in the second round of the Australian Open. Five years ago, there were two Ukrainians in the main draw of the major tournament in Melbourne (Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk). Then Elina reached the fourth round at the Aus Open.

Svitolina will play against Linda Klimovichova in the 1/32 final of Aus Open 2026.
