Sapovalov in the chair umpire: “You are all corrupt”
Aside from himself with the chair umpire, Denis Sapovalov came out in the quarterfinals match with Rafael Nadal in Melbourne.
Dennis Sapovalov gave it his all in the quarterfinals match against Rafael Nadal in Melbourne. The Canadian took the match referee in the first service game of the second set, whom he accused of favoring Nadal for the time he takes.
“They started the timer 45 seconds early and he’s not ready to serve. You must punish him. He’s not ready to play. Do you work with me? Are you corrupt? Are you all corrupt?” said Sapovalov.
In the next game came the reaction of the chair umpire, who asked Sapovalov to speak because of the looks the Canadian was giving the umpire.
“What do you want now? You look at me and there are 8 seconds left. What exactly do you want? What are you looking at me like I have to check the clock? said the chair umpire to the Canadian, with Rafael Nadal yelling at Sapovalov in the net to calm him down. The Spaniard won 3-2 sets and reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
