Exclusion for Laki in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open Junior
Michaela Laki did well at this year’s Australian Open, reaching the juniors quarterfinals, but she failed to get the ticket to the 4 as she was eliminated in a 2-0 set by American Liv Howdy.
The all-around impressive presence of Michaela Laki (No. 13) at this year’s Australian Open ended in the juniors’ quarterfinals, where she failed to clear Liv Howdy’s obstacle.
Against each other, the American (No. 20 in the ranking) had the upper hand throughout the match and was able to take advantage of a clear victory with 2:0 sets (6:5, 6:0) in almost 1.5 hours of play all 32 effortless error of the Greek (16th winner).
Of course, Laki’s defeat doesn’t detract from her brilliant presence in the tournament so far, as the 16-year-old has the opportunity to continue her upward course in the world rankings by participating in other ITF tournaments.
