Kyrgios and Kokkinakis reached the Australian Open doubles final
Nick Kyrgios and Thanasis Kokkinakis knocked out Grangers/Sebagios in the men’s doubles semi-finals at the Australian Open and celebrated a great qualification for the final where the Ebden/Parcel duo awaits them.
Rod Laver Arena saw a lot of stress in the early hours of Thursday (1/27) as Greek-Australians Nick Kyrgios and Thanasis Kokkinakis continued their terrible course in the Australian Open doubles and are now just one step away from winning the weight trophy .
The final obstacle in their journey, which they impressively overcame, was the Granogers/Sebagios duo (No. 3 in the rankings), where Kyrgios and Kokkinakis clinched victory 7-6(4), 6-4 and settled out apotheosis ticket to the final where they will face Australia’s Abden and Parcel.
It should be noted that twins Pavic/Mektic (No. 1 on the board) and Pütz/Vinus (No. 6) are also eliminated on the way up, while for the first time since 1980 two teams from Australia will be in the grand final .
