Medvedev: Tsitsipas’ “curse” hit the Russians again
For the fourth time, Stefanos Tsitsipas lost in the semifinals of the Grand Slam, but none of his opponents won the title.
Danil Medvedev took a breather from his second consecutive Grand Slam title, but Rafael Nadal took the opposite view and reached the top of the Australian Open.
With this, the Russian continued the “curse” of Stefanos Tsitsipas’ opponents in the semifinals of the Grand Slam, as none of them prevailed in the final.
Medvedev even drank the bitter glass both this year and last year. This beginning of the negative tradition began in 2019 with Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open, followed by Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros in 2020 and the quartet closes with Medvedev’s two failed attempts at the Australian Open in 2021 and 2022.
Last but not least, Stefanos Tsitsipas starts and creates a negative tradition for the opponent in the semifinals.
