Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of winger Savinho from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £85million ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.
The Premier League club agreed a transfer fee comprising £75million up front plus £10million in potential add-ons for the Brazilian winger. The move comes after head coach Roberto De Zerbi watched his side suffer a 3-0 defeat at Brentford in their opening Premier League fixture of the season.
Savinho is expected to feature immediately for Tottenham in their upcoming League Cup fixture against Charlton. Spurs are also continuing negotiations to acquire forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City in a potential double transfer deal.
Speaking after finalizing his contract at the North London club, Savinho expressed his enthusiasm for joining De Zerbi's squad.
"It's taken a while but I'm very happy to be here," Savinho said. "It's a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world. As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team."
De Zerbi praised the incoming winger for his tactical versatility and attacking capabilities in wide areas.
"Savinho is a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions," De Zerbi said. "He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity. We’re very pleased to have him with us, and I’m looking forward to working with him, helping him continue to grow and seeing him bring his personality to the team."
Manchester United sign Carlos Baleba and eye Chido Obi Martin loan
Manchester United have announced the signing of midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £70million deal. The 22-year-old midfielder signed a five-year contract to join the club at Old Trafford.
Baleba expressed his delight at working under manager Michael Carrick and contributing to the club's long-term ambitions.
"I cannot wait to work with Michael Carrick; his experience and knowledge of the game make him the perfect coach to help me to reach the highest level," Baleba said. "The ambition of everyone at the club is extremely clear, the future is hugely exciting, and I am determined to play my part in delivering the success that we are capable of together."
The former Brighton midfielder was officially presented alongside Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox after completing his move.
In addition to incoming permanent transfers, Manchester United forward Chido Obi Martin has emerged as a loan target for Dutch side Feyenoord. The Eredivisie club, coached by former Barcelona defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst, are seeking attacking cover in the event of late squad departures before the transfer window closes.
Obi Martin, a Denmark U21 international, previously attracted interest from German club Cologne earlier in the window. A move to Feyenoord would also offer the young forward experience in European competition through Champions League football.
Manchester City target Enzo Fernandez as Nico Gonzalez departs
Manchester City are expected to launch a new bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea previously set City a strict deadline of 5pm on August 13 to meet a £120million valuation, which expired without an agreement.
However, ongoing discussions with Fernandez's agent, Javier Pastore, have confirmed that the 25-year-old Argentina midfielder remains open to a move to the Premier League champions. Fernandez featured for the final 30 minutes as a substitute during Chelsea's 3-2 victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Manchester City midfielder Nico Gonzalez is travelling to the North East to finalize a £50million transfer to Newcastle United. The 24-year-old Spanish player bid farewell to his City teammates on Tuesday morning prior to undergoing a medical examination within the next 24 hours.
The financial agreement between Manchester City and Newcastle United consists of a guaranteed £47million initial payment alongside £3million in performance-related add-ons.
Nottingham Forest pursue Liam Delap and Andre in transfer push
Nottingham Forest and Chelsea are finalizing a £45million deal for striker Liam Delap. Talks between the two clubs intensified on Monday evening following Chelsea's fixture against Fulham.
A verbal agreement is now in place for the 23-year-old forward to join manager Oliver Glasner's squad at the City Ground. Delap is scheduled to undergo his medical examination within the next 24 hours.
Nottingham Forest are also in advanced discussions to sign Corinthians midfielder Andre in a £13.6million deal. The 20-year-old midfielder made his senior league debut a year ago and rapidly established himself among the premier young midfielders in Brazilian football.
AC Milan attempted to sign Andre during the January transfer window, but the player chose to remain at Corinthians until the end of the Brazilian domestic season. Premier League side Crystal Palace have also maintained active interest in the midfielder.
Forest have prioritised midfield reinforcement following the sale of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City. The club previously submitted offers for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall and Tijjani Reijnders, who recently departed Manchester City for Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah.
Forest have also opened formal negotiations with Spanish club Celta Vigo regarding right-back Javi Rueda. The Premier League side is discussing an £8million offer for the 25-year-old defender, who joined Celta Vigo from Real Madrid in 2024.
In player departures, Nottingham Forest winger Dilane Bakwa is set to join French club Lille on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old joined Forest from Strasbourg last September for £30million but struggled to secure a regular starting role. Bakwa will undergo a medical on Tuesday before joining Lille for their upcoming Champions League campaign.
Aston Villa target Rafael Leao and Christian Kofane
Aston Villa are examining the financial structure required to secure a transfer deal for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. Villa made formal contact regarding the 27-year-old Portuguese international, who also remains a target for Turkish club Galatasaray.
Aston Villa have also submitted a transfer enquiry to Bayer Leverkusen for 20-year-old striker Christian Kofane. Alongside active negotiations for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, Villa are intent on adding another attacking option to their frontline.
The West Midlands club turned their focus to Kofane after seeing an initial inquiry for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta rejected. Kofane's representative held talks in England earlier this summer with clubs including Everton and Arsenal, though Bayer Leverkusen currently prefer not to sell the young striker.
Regarding outgoing loans, Doncaster Rovers are set to sign Aston Villa midfielder Tommi O'Reilly on a season-long deal. A number of English Football League clubs, including Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, sought to sign the youngster, who scored and assisted over 20 goals during a loan spell at Crewe Alexandra in League Two last season.
Wrexham close in on Jacques Ekomie and Issa Kabore
Wrexham are closing in on an £8million transfer for Angers wing-back Jacques Ekomie as manager Phil Parkinson rebuilds his squad for a Premier League promotion push. Wrexham reached a breakthrough in talks with the French club for the 23-year-old after seeing an opening bid of £4.3million rejected on Friday.
Ekomie attracted significant transfer interest from German club Hamburg and Premier League side West Ham United. Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney attended Saturday's 1-1 draw against Watford, where Parkinson held positive discussions with the Hollywood duo regarding squad recruitment.
Wrexham are also nearing the signing of Manchester City defender Issa Kabore after agreeing a £2million fee. The 25-year-old Burkina Faso international, who has earned 55 caps, spent last season on loan at Wrexham and has completed eight loan spells since joining City from Belgian club Mechelen in 2020.
Parkinson is also attempting to secure deals for Millwall forward Femi Azeez and Ipswich Town attacking midfielder Anis Mehmeti. Ipswich have placed a £9million asking price on Mehmeti, who is also attracting interest from Birmingham City.
West Ham, Brentford, Coventry and Chelsea negotiate late moves
Brentford are conducting ongoing negotiations with West Ham United to sign left wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf. The Senegal international arrived at West Ham last summer from Czech side Slavia Prague in a £19million transfer following an inconsistent debut season in East London.
West Ham defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez has received a loan offer from Greek club Olympiacos. The Mexico international has also drawn loan inquiries from Spanish side Real Sociedad and Dutch club Ajax.
Coventry City are finalizing the transfer of Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock. The 33-year-old defender is scheduled for a medical on Tuesday before signing a three-year contract that includes an option for an extension. Promoted Coventry agreed a £6million fee with Brentford to bolster manager Frank Lampard's squad.
At Chelsea, Italian side Napoli are continuing discussions regarding a move for forward Marc Guiu, while defender Mamadou Sarr's proposed loan move to Real Sociedad is progressing. Chelsea have also made inquiries concerning 16-year-old Atalanta defender Honest Anahor.
