Some Olympic medalists have proposed lowering the retirement age for professional athletes in Russia. The athletes announced this at an expanded meeting of the Commission of Athletes of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) on Thursday.
According to Match TV, the athletes argued the proposal as follows: those who go in for sports of the highest achievements train from a very young age without days off and holidays. From a group of athletes, two-time Olympic bronze medalist freestyler Sergei Ridzik and two-time Olympic silver medalist, two-time world volleyball champion Yekaterina Gamova took the initiative.
