Russian national volleyball teams are not allowed to qualify for the Olympics in Paris
The Russian men’s and women’s volleyball teams are not allowed to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, according to the website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The national teams ranked from the first to the 26th place in the ranking of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), with the exception of the national teams of Russia and France as hosts of the Games, will compete for tickets to the Olympics.
Each qualifying tournament will feature 24 teams, which will be divided into three groups of eight teams. The top two teams from each group will receive direct tickets to the Games. Five more participants will be known after the preliminary stage of the League of Nations.
The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
In February, the IOC recommended that sports federations prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing due to the situation in Ukraine.
