Olympiacos: Stern’s terrible reception with the leg and Hidalgo’s lightning
During Olympiakos’ game against Foinikas, Stern made a terrible reception with his leg while Hidalgo finished two of the match’s three sets with lightning serves.
Olympiacos made the derby an easy affair with Foinikas Syros, with Hidalgo in the lead, putting in a terrible display.
Before we delve into the Cuban-German winger, let’s make a stop at the star. The Slovenian diagonal scored a slot that would have been the envy of the best receivers, only he managed it with his foot.
But back to Hidalgo. The Olympiacos winger performed in full. Oscar status 19 points on offense (15/18) were the icing on the cake.
The most important element in his game is the serve. Every time he went on duty, Phoenix’s reception shook. The stats might give him three aces, but he often spoiled his opponents’ receptions by giving his teammates the opportunity to either score easy points or lead Phoenix to easy passes.
At the same time, it was in the decisive third set that Phoenix showed his best face, it was he who cleaned up in the final. First, he grabbed a hard point at 27-26 by capitalizing on his terrific jump shot. At 27-28, he cleared a set ball from Foinikas and then ended the match with two aces.
